summer school success

Oh Dear! are one of the bands formed during the Future Sounds of Belfast Summer School.

The Future Sounds of Belfast Summer School was a two week intensive that took place last year, in which young people were guided by facilitators in writing their own songs, culminating in a showcase at the Black Box. Along the way, they received advice from those in the industry and formed lasting friendships and bands that have been making their mark on the local scene.

Oh Dear! had their track ‘Where Is My Kickdrum?’ played on BBC Introducing with Taylor Johnson. The track was written and recorded during the Future Sounds of Belfast summer school.

House of Neptune and The Last Resort played a sold out show in Queens Students' Union. The gig was organised by House of Neptune member and Future Sounds 2025 participant Eimear Gallagher. House of Neptune were formed during the Future Sounds summer school last year, originally as Oceans on Tape, but have since changed their name. The Last Resort were formed through our after school club Elevate.

House of Neptune also got a shout out from Taylor Johnson on BBC Introducing as they are due to play their first headline show in the Accidental Theatre on 19th February and will soon be releasing their debut single (also written during our Future Sounds summer school).
