In 2018, with much appreciated support from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Oh Yeah launched More Volume, a community-based events mentoring project which took the Volume Control mentoring model out of the city centre and into the community.

Participants of More Volume take part in a 12-week programme to learn the skills needed to deliver a music event from communication skills, marketing, design, copy-writing, risk assessment and event management. The live music events are then held, if possible, within the community the young people come from.

We have seen everything from Halloween gigs on the Falls Road, to DJ sets in the middle of CS Lewis Square, to indie bands in sold out cafes on the Shankill Road to rock gigs in vintage cinema screens. The key focus of More Volume has been to increase the participation of young people in the Arts and to make it accessible for everyone, no matter what part of the city they live in.
