Sound of Belfast Fest: Rhythm Through Time

Three Generations of Belfast DJs in Conversation

As part of the 2025 Sound of Belfast Festival, we are proud to present “RTT” a compelling & intimate panel discussion tracing the evolution of DJ culture both here in Belfast and further afield, via three voices of influential & burgeoning artists: Noel Watson, Timmy Stewart & Hannah.

Hosted by Venus Dupree, this event brings together three generations of DJs who are shaping, soundtracking and inspiring the city’s underground music landscape from some of its earliest dancefloors to today’s diverse and dynamic culture.

Together, they’ll explore how the art of DJing has changed across decades, what it has meant in times of political tension and cultural transformation, and why music remains a powerful tool for self-expression, connection and community building.

“Rhythm Through Time” is not a look back, it’s a celebration of continuity, creativity and what it means to be a DJ then as well as today. It will also coincide with the launch of a display cabinet in the Oh Yeah Centre put together by Timmy Stewart that tracks his years DJing in the mid nineties through to today.
