A Simple Twist of FATE...
FATE magazine have launched the website and voting for their FATE Awards 2008 to be held at the Waterfront Hall on February 22nd 2008. And they have kindly nominated the Oh Yeah project as their chosen charity with the 'Raise the Roof' appeal, hoping to raise money to rebuild our roof. For more details check on the latest issue of the magazine and get voting for your favorite things over at www.fateawards.com
As Stuart said: "It's a happy surprise to know that the people from FATE Magazine are looking out for Oh Yeah. Trying to establish a dedicated music centre for Belfast is a very tough process and good friends are so valuable. Even better, FATE is actively raising funds - trying to put a new roof over our heads. That's pure positivity, and it's something the musical community will thank them for."

It’s a perfectly simple plan. We find a huge building in the
centre of Belfast, and we fill it with music makers and people
with creative energy. We kit it out with a recording studio, rehearsal
rooms, a performance area and loads of space for growing fresh
ideas.
We do all this because Belfast lacks a dedicated music space. We appreciate that our best acts have prospered in difficult conditions. Snow Patrol also know this, and their active support has played a critical part in the process.
Gary Lightbody kick-started the idea in December 2005 and like the rest of us, he strongly believes that many more acts can flourish with due encouragement and industry expertise. To meet this need, we have set up Oh Yeah, a non profit-making organisation.
We spent 2006 in the search for a suitable location, and we’ve found it at the Outlet Building, part of the rapidly developing Cathedral Quarter in Belfast. The plans are in place and the future is inspiring. Our history is loaded. Let’s keep the hits coming...
